BUCKBRUSH REEL - Song Page

from CD Sky & Water, Wind & Grass

Album Notes:  This instrumental in 4/4 Irish reel time is a lively tune at our contra dances .

It is named after a tenacious little woody shrub common in Flint Hills pastures.  Ranchers try to limit its presence through fire, but it often manages to survive.   Symphoricarpos orbiculatus is also called coralberry or Indian Currant and is a flowering plant from the honeysuckle family, sometimes used in landscaping.
