MUSIC OF THE EMMA CHASE  (2005) - SONG PAGES

This 2005 album - our first - preceded our original Songs of the Flint Hills series, and has many traditional songs and cover songs, but also three original instrumentals, and three original vocal songs.

These include some real gems, especially Charlie's lively old-time fiddle tunes and cowboy vocals. Also, Derrick Doty demonstrates his remarkable instrumentation and shares his moving love song Ancient Sound.  Loren’s banjo work gives the album a real kick, and then he slows it down beautifully for Shenandoah and In the Pines.   Finally, this CD contains Annie Wilson’s first two original songs about life in the Flint Hills - see below.
